Privacy Policy
ADLEA Inc., the Armenian Dual Language Educators Association (“ADLEA,” “we,” “us”), is a nonprofit organization serving Armenian Dual Language Immersion educators, families, and communities in Armenia and across the diaspora. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through www.adlea.org and our direct communications with you, how we use it, and the choices you have.
When we launch additional services, such as LEHZU, the ADLEA App, or Virtual ADLI Programs, we will provide any additional privacy terms that apply to them before you use them.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us
We collect the information you choose to share with us, for example when you:
- email us or reach out about membership, partnerships, or our programs (your name, email address, and the contents of your message);
- join ADLEA or register for a workshop, conference, or other event (such as your name, contact details, school or district, role, and membership tier);
- arrange payment for a membership, either yourself or through an institution or sponsor.
Please don’t send us sensitive personal information, such as student records or health information, by email unless we have specifically asked for it through an agreed, secure process.
Information collected automatically
Our website is intentionally simple. It does not use advertising, tracking or analytics cookies, and we do not run analytics or advertising trackers on it. Like any website, our hosting provider automatically records standard technical information when pages are requested, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages visited, and the date and time, to deliver the site and keep it secure.
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser downloads these fonts, Google receives your IP address and basic browser information, as described in Google’s own privacy policy.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- respond to your questions and requests;
- provide memberships, professional learning, events, and other ADLEA programs;
- process membership payments and keep basic membership records;
- send updates about ADLEA and our programs, which you can opt out of at any time;
- keep our website and services secure and working properly; and
- meet our legal, tax, and nonprofit reporting obligations.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not use it for advertising. We share information only:
- with service providers who help us operate, such as website hosting, email, event, and payment providers, and only so they can provide those services to us;
- with a school, district, or sponsor that pays for or enrolls you in a membership or program, limited to what is needed to administer it, such as confirming your enrollment;
- with partner organizations when you have asked us to, or agreed that we may, for a specific collaboration;
- when required by law, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of ADLEA, our community, or others.
4. Children’s Privacy
This website is designed for educators, families, and partners, and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this website. Where ADLEA programs involve learners, we work through their schools and families and obtain the consent required by law before collecting any information. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us at info@adlea.org and we will delete it.
Our Data Handling Statement describes in more detail how we protect information about learners, educators, and research participants.
5. How Long We Keep Information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described above, or as long as the law requires, for example for tax and financial records. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including limiting access to the people who need it. No method of transmitting or storing data is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Choices and Rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is inaccurate;
- delete your information, unless we must keep it by law; or
- stop sending you updates.
To make a request, email info@adlea.org. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to confirm your identity first. You can also unsubscribe from any update email by using the link it contains or by replying to it.
8. International Visitors
ADLEA is based in the United States, and we serve communities in Armenia and around the world. If you contact us from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
9. Links to Other Websites
Our website links to partner organizations and to social media such as LinkedIn. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for them. Please review their policies when you visit them.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to let our members know.
